It gives me great pleasure to welcome you to Jordanstown School’s website.
I hope you enjoy browsing your way through the website to find out more about our wonderful, purpose built school that specialises in meeting the needs of pupils of all abilities aged 4 to 19 who are deaf and/or visually impaired.
The main focus of our school is to ensure we put the pupils at the heart of everything we do and deliver a curriculum which ensures all the pupils reach their maximum potential and that the class programmes ensure their academic, social, personal and emotional needs are met.
All our permanent members of teaching staff are specifically trained and become qualified in teaching pupils with a visual impairment and/or teaching pupils who are deaf.
We appreciate the most effective learning and teaching takes place when all relevant professionals and parents liaise closely with school so we actively encourage and foster close links between parents, school staff, our Board of Trustees and Board of Governors, therapists and other health care professionals and external partners linked to our pupils.
It is a privilege and an honour to be Principal of this wonderful school and to work alongside a very skilled staff team in meeting the needs of the pupils in our care and if you would like a tour of to find out any more information about Jordanstown school please don’t hesitate to contact the school office to arrange a visit.
